I wanted to share an example of one of the kaleidoscope videos I talked about in our last event. They're pretty mesmerizing.
I found some free kaleidoscope clips at pixabay.com. I was trying to figure out how to make my own, but that didn't go very far. Then I was watching this tutorial and she mentioned Pixabay had free clips of them :O
They're not quite as elaborate as the one I shared above, but they'll work I think. I'll have to figure out how to loop the clip since they're pretty short.
I'm still working on what pictures I want to include. Here are some examples of what AI gave me for the flaming spiral around a heart. The prompt I used was: Create a fiery spiral that starts at the bottom of a black background, rising upward and engulfing a heart near the top in bright red and orange flames. The heart should be the focal point, with flames dancing and swirling around it in a mesmerizing display.
As I said during the event, the spiral isn't moving up and out like I imagined it. I want a kind of vortex, like a tornado depiction.
I'll have to keep playing with the wording so I can get that like I want, but otherwise I like the colors and the vibrancy of the pictures AI generated.
This project might end up taking me longer than I originally thought. Before January started and before we had any of our January events, I planned to just do my usual Canva image. Like this one I created last year.
But now I'm having so much fun with AI and learning video editing, it might take me a while to figure out how to put everything together. I'm basically making a glorified slide show, but it feels like making a movie.
I've been thinking back to high school. Specifically, the one time in my life I ever remember being told I did something very creative. I was working on a history project. I can't remember what it was about. But we were supposed to create a HyperCard stack. Does anyone remember those?
I created a timeline where you could click on each date and it would open up a card that went into more detail. It doesn't sound all that creative nowadays, but back in the 90's it was pretty spiffy. And I still remember the teacher writing on my evaluation that it was very creative.
Maybe technology can be a creative outlet for me. Technology is pretty amazing. I know it has its issues and we probably shouldn't sit on our butts all day on the computer. But it's also pretty amazing what you can create with a little box that sits on your lap.
How are your creations coming?
Happy creating :D
