January 29, 2024
Well, me and my internet friends. And my real life partner, Marshall.
I finished my mind movie for my 2024 theme and intentions.
I had such a good time working on this. I learned all kinds of technology things, like video editing and all the different ways to use AI.
I brainstormed with my AI friend, Pi to come up with the prompts for Dall-E to create the still images in the video. I played with Genmo to get some of the video clips, like the hearts spiraling in and out.
I learned more about using OpenShot. How to slow down a video clip, reverse it, animate it, zoom in and out. How to layer the different parts of the video so the music overlays the pictures.
I explored a lot of the free pictures, videos, and music on Pixabay to find the music in the video and the kaleidoscope videos.
Marshall helped me turn square pictures into circles using his Photoshop skills.
I'm currently learning how to download and upload videos without losing quality. The first time I tried, the video was much grainier after uploading it to YouTube than before.
I feel like the whole process of creating the movie really helped me flesh out my theme and intentions for the year. Spending the month of January working it all out, playing with different ideas before settling on any, using AI art to bring more vibrancy and fun to all of it.
I think the fun I had creating this makes the end result less important. I like the end result, but not nearly as much as I liked the process of creating it. All the new things I learned. How playful and free I felt exploring all these aspects of what went into making the video. The flow I often felt that I was in.
And all of that makes it so much easier to share with others. My self worth isn't tied up in the project or what anyone thinks of it. Even if no one likes it, I had so much fun making it, that it doesn't really even matter. And I ultimately made it for myself, to bring my theme and intentions to life in a way that speaks to me.
That said, I do hope you enjoy it. And that it inspires you to tap into your own creativity in whatever ways spark your imagination and get you feeling like you're in the flow.
