Are You Ready To Come Out Of Your Shell?

Introverts aren't meant to be lonely, but sometimes we get stuck in that lonely place. Trying to figure out life all on our own. Reading tons of books to light the way. Sure if we just find that one idea, that one method to fix ourselves, our lives will finally start working in the ways that we want.

What if we don't have to solve life or fix ourselves to enjoy our lives? What if one thing that would help us is something we so often cut ourselves off from? 

As much as it pains me to say it (or would have pained me in the past), we need other people. We need community. And we can have it in ways that feel good to us. We can still be on the quieter, more self-reflective side. We don't have to become extroverts. We don't have to get our extroverted friends or family members to help us socialize. We aren't broken. We just need to find the people and places that fit us, that bring us out of our shells naturally.

I created Introverts Unite to be one of those places that fits, with some of those people that fit. A cozy space for quieter women to come together to explore ourselves and our relationships with the wider world. To embrace who we are right now, while still allowing ourselves to grow into who we want to become. To let our guard down, to be more open, to maybe even have a dream or two that we're not sure we can really get. 

Sometimes we get stuck inside our own heads and our old stories about who we are and what we're capable of. That's when connecting with other people can make such a difference. Other women like us, who know what it's like to feel isolated and out of place at times. 

Community is a Verb: We Create It Together

Introverts Unite is still in its infancy, launched in December of 2023. As the host, I'm still experimenting and learning as I go, and doing my best to have fun doing so.

We are a very small community of introverted women looking to grow slowly and steadily. Our focus is on fostering genuine connections and ensuring that every member feels welcomed, comfortable, and valued. Building a strong community takes time and care, so we're taking a thoughtful approach to expansion, laying a solid foundation that supports our members as we grow together. 

I believe community is created by the collective experiences and contributions of each individual. This is not meant to be a one-way street where you passively consume content. Instead, I encourage you to be an active participant, sharing your own stories and experiences, and engaging with other members in a meaningful way.

By being open and vulnerable about your feelings and experiences, you not only support others in the community, but you also deepen your own self-understanding and connection with others who share your journey.

As a community, we're here to support each other in discovering our own truths and forging our own paths. This is not a place for gurus or one-way wisdom, but a space where we can share our stories, learn from each other, and grow together. I invite you to join us and help shape Introverts Unite into a community that truly reflects our collective experiences and wisdom, one story and one connection at a time.

Explore Your Inner World & Share Your Stories With Others

As introverts, we often need time alone to gather our thoughts and to generate ideas. Some of our events incorporate time to journal in response to thought-provoking prompts or to work on our creations individually. The rest of the time is spent discussing our ideas, sharing our stories or our creations with each other. 

Sharing our reflections, ideas, and creations with others in a supportive environment can be a powerful and transformative experience. It allows us to connect on a deeper level, gain new perspectives, and foster a sense of belonging that enriches our lives beyond what we could achieve on our own 

Currently, our events typically happen on a weekday at 3:00 PM Eastern/8 PM GMT. I try to schedule the event based on the community's overall availability. If you decide to join, I invite you to share your scheduling preferences with me so I can include your info when choosing the day and time of events.

The live events are the best way to participate in IU, in my humble opinion. They give us all an opportunity to more deeply connect with each other, to laugh together, and to open ourselves up around other people. To go beyond the typical social media experience of short posts and endless content.

To give you another glimpse into our community, I'd like to share our community's garden manifesto, created during our month of exploring quiet power (you can zoom in to read the words). It reflects, in picture form, what we value and how we'd like the world to be. I had fun creating it with input from our members and hope to do more of these kinds of community projects in the future, allowing everyone to be a part of the process.

At Introverts Unite, we're devoted to creating a warm, welcoming space where women can come together, connect, and have fun! We believe that personal growth and connection can happen in a lighthearted, joyful environment. Our focus is on presence, flow, and authenticity, rather than striving for perfection or following a linear path. We're committed to showing up for each other, fostering an environment where everyone has the opportunity to share their voices, explore their creativity, and embrace their own inner wisdom, all while having a good time.

Pricing

To be honest, I'm still working out the pricing. How do you price something so abstract and intangible as a community space? I'm still working that out, wanting to be fair to you and to me. Ultimately I want IU to be a thriving business and that requires paying customers. I have tried to figure out how to live in this world without money, but unfortunately failed to do so ☹️

In this moment, I am offering two options for becoming a member. They both offer access to the same things:

• A live weekly Zoom meeting

Members come together to explore the current month's theme, usually at 3 PM Eastern on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday currently. I try to keep things varied and interesting for myself and members. We share personal stories and creations we made in relation to the theme, play short introvert-friendly games, spend time writing in response to journal prompts, watch movies while sharing insights in a live chat.

• A weekly co-working session

On Sundays at 3 PM Eastern members come together to work on individual projects in a shared Zoom room. We chat for a few minutes about what we plan to work on, spend 40-50 minutes working individually, and then chat for a few minutes about how things went.

• Access to past recorded events

Events were regularly recorded from December 2023 through August 2024, with 3 additional events recorded after August. The events are no longer recorded so members can feel more at ease sharing their stories, though I may go back to recording them in the future if it's beneficial to the community.

• Access to the online forum

You can choose to share your thoughts and ideas in the forum at your convenience. You're invited to share any interesting discoveries related to the monthly theme or anything you create yourself. You can write short posts or longer ones, share pictures of any of your creations. It's kind of like Facebook, but better in that it's solely for introverted women, private (you don't have to post to everyone you know) and ad and algorithm free.

You can choose:

• The Affordable Ally Plan ($30 a month) - This plan is for you if you have a limited budget but would still like to join the community. I understand finances can be tight and want to allow you to join and benefit from the community even when finances aren't going your way currently.

• The Prosperous Partner Plan ($60 a month) - This is actually the minimum I would like to charge, the amount that feels more sustainable for me. If you are comfortable financially and can easily pay this amount it would be of great benefit to growing IU into a viable business.

To give you a chance to explore if IU is a good fit for you, I offer a free two week trial. I want you to be able to easily try it out, to kick the tires so to speak.  I know it can be hard to really know if something is for you before you actually try it out. So if you resonate with what I've described so far, please do sign up for the trial.

The pricing for IU is a work in progress and will be changing in the future I imagine. As I gain more clarity and confidence in IU's stability and benefits to its members. And as I gain more confidence in myself as its host and feel capable of providing something consistently valuable. I truly believe what IU currently offers is quite valuable, but get a bit hung up on the money side of things.
